Biosphere partners

The Forest of Dean biosphere application is a partnership effort that is partly funded by the UK Government's Shared Prosperity Fund.

 

Gloucestershire County Council 

Lead member and officer, nomination support and financial contribution to support the nomination. 

Forest of Dean District Council

Lead organisation, leadership, management, and financial support. Full council support for the nomination. 

Forest Economic Partnership 

Lead local economic organisation, project originator and governance body.  

Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust

Lead local nature conservation data analysts and advisors with a network of community programmes.

Forestry England

They grow forests for all, for life.

Forest of Dean and Wye Tourism - Visit Dean Wye

The area's destination management organisation, lead tourism advisor, member of the steering group, and support for the nomination. 

The Wilderness Centre, Wylderne

A community benefit society, outdoor education and ecoliteracy centre, and member of the steering group, providing key support in developing the nomination, based at The Wilderness Centre.

Dean Heritage Centre

Supports the nomination through their work to help preserve the local cultural heritage, and educates local children through their work with schools. They also educate their other visitors.
