Active Wellbeing Strategy
What is it?
Active Wellbeing refers to supporting people to live healthier, more active lives by increasing access to physical activity, reducing barriers to participation, and strengthening social connection.
It is about helping residents live healthier, more connected lives by making physical activity accessible, inclusive, and community-focused. The district council’s strategy is to work closely with health and community partners, support locally delivered activity programmes, and help people integrate physical activity into their day to day lives.
If you’re looking for an activity and don’t need specific health related support, there are a range of Active Wellbeing activities available across the district. You can find further details by clicking on the links in the Related Pages section.
How are we going to support Active Wellbeing in the district?
Using data & local knowledge - mapping key travel patterns to make sure routes meet community needs.
Engagement with communities - starting with an event facilitated by Active Gloucestershire in Spring 2026.
